Transdev Blazefield Zap to gold at the UK Bus Awards!24 November 2016
Zap’s the way to do it! Transdev Blazefield's pioneering brand, Cityzap, scooped GOLD at the UK Bus Awards yesterday in the ‘Making Buses a Better Choice’ category.
Cityzap beat off stiff competition from the likes of Reading Buses, Stagecoach and Go North East to take the top prize at the awards. It’s a huge vote of confidence for the innovation and teamwork that went into creating this amazing new brand, which has grown demand in what, nationally, continues to be a challenging market.
Cityzap’s success in the awards comes just one week after Zappy driver Mariusz Losinski was crowned ‘Dream Driver’ at Transdev Blazefield's very own Amazing Awards in Bradford.
It was also incredibly pleasing to have Keighley’s Bryan Liddle as a finalist in the Top National Bus Driver category. Whilst Bryan didn’t take home the top prize, to be recognised in a shortlist of just six across the UK is a huge achievement. The 36 also was a finalist in the Sustainable Marketing category.
Pictured here collecting the award is Cityzap driver Gordon Mallon, alongside our CEO, Alex Hornby, Norman Baker, Chair of Bus Users UK and Theo Panayi of sponsor Heathrow Airport.
Speaking after the awards, Alex said: ‘Whilst these awards were recognising individual people and products, it’s also reflection of how we all do business at Blazefield, and on all your hard work. Cityzap now carries well over 6,000 customers every week, and our customers love it - their feedback so far has been outstanding. Well done to everybody involved in making Cityzap a success’.
Huge congratulations to the amazing York depot, the Cityzap team and all of the Transdev Blazefield finalists!
