Last chance to vote Coastliner! Help Yorkshire's amazing day out to become Britain's most scenic bus route10 May 2018
Coastliner bus service crosses the North York Moors to historic Whitby – with amazing views all the way!
It’s a journey filled with breath-taking moor and coastal views and packed with exciting family visitor attractions – and it could be named Britain’s most scenic bus route if a last push for votes wins the coveted title!
A flurry of last minute voting is expected before the poll closes at midnight on Sunday (13 May), with the winner of “Britain’s Most Scenic Bus Route” to be revealed this summer.
Among the favourites for the country’s most captivating journey is the Coastliner 840 service, which links Leeds, York, Malton and Pickering with the historic fishing town and seaside resort of Whitby.
The team at Coastliner’s HQ in Malton are urging everyone who travels on the route to help them secure first place in the online poll, run by the transport users’ watchdog Bus Users UK.
Coastliner CEO Alex Hornby is hoping the Whitby route will emerge victorious when the results are revealed. Alex said: “We know from the many positive comments we receive from our customers that the Coastliner 840 route is the ideal way to enjoy the stunning scenery of the North York Moors and coast, without the hassle and stress of driving.
“Our Coastliner service has been transformed with amazing new buses, offering a host of passenger-friendly features including superfast and free 4G Wi-Fi, USB at-seat power points, audible next stop information and comfortable coach seating.
“A seat on the top deck gives grandstand views of the timeless Moors scenery and a first glimpse of the coast as the bus begins its descent into Whitby. It’s a great experience for the whole family and undoubtedly one of the most scenic bus journeys in the country.
“We’re keeping everything crossed that Coastliner will be crowned Britain’s most scenic bus route – but it all hangs on the outcome of this week’s final round of voting. It’s really easy to take part, and as an added incentive there’s a cash prize draw for everyone who submits their vote – so please vote Coastliner today!”
